Week 17 of 95

  • Clancy and Theys continued to monitor the progress of construction at the wastewater treatment building.  Siding and roof plywood were completed and #30 roll tar paper was attached.  A bathroom window and other cosmetic work was completed.  The clerestory roof and exterior siding work will commence soon.
  • With construction leaving the beach area, Misener Marine held safety training  with morning and afternoon sessions for its employee’s, lasting a total of 5 hours.
  • Misener continued to install 18″ X 18″ pilings for the south ramp.  The south work trestle is now 320 ft. east of the proposed pier house at pile bents #18 and #19.  They will continue to set piles for the next section to the east.
  • Temporary steel sheeting was installed between the north and south trestle along the dune line to prevent (or minimize) potential ocean over-wash in this area.  Misener as well as Clancy and Theys prepared the site for the possibility of high winds and storm surge due to tropical storm Danny.
  • The first 24″ X 24″ concrete piles were delivered on Friday for the pier house.
  • GET Solutions was on site to monitor the installation of the concrete piles at pile bents #(-1) and # (-2) on the south ramp.  GET Solutions also set the seismic monitors at the north and south property lines, just behind the frontal dunes on the day that concrete piles were driven.  GET Solutions will continue to monitor the pile installation as well as the seismic activity on the site.
