Week 31 of 95 North Carolina Aquariums Jennette’s Pier
- Misener Marine Completed the temporary pile cap platform and set the pile caps (3 each) at the pile bent #7 and then formed and poured the splice areas and pile pockets on this pile cap. Misener also stripped the temporary pile cap platforms from under the pile caps at pile bent #10, #9 & @8.
- Misener Marine set the precast concrete beams on the pile caps from pile bent #10 to #12.
- Misener Marine installed the steel beams for the next section of the south trestle (section #49/#50) which will put the temporary work platform 832 ft. east of the dune line.
- Clancy & Theys continue prefabricating the wood forms for the cast-in-place concrete beams at the Pier House.
- Clancy & Theys installed the stainless steel, turn-buckle, cross bracing at the roof trusses that support the clerestory in the Wastewater Treatment Building.
- Basnight Construction set the two remaining 16,000-gallon Holding Tanks (#3 & #4), poured the concrete “anti-float” collars and back filled around the tanks.
- GET Solutions was on site to monitor and test the concrete poured at the splice areas and pile pockets on the pile cap at pile bent #7.
Work planned for next week:
- Clancy & Theys will continue working on fabricating the forms for the cast-in-place concrete columns at the Pier House.
- Basnight Construction will begin installing the underground piping at the Wastewater Treatment Building site and will also form and pour the sump pits in the two Reactor Tanks.
- Minener Marine will set the beams and the precast concrete decking from pile cap #7 to #10 and will possibly install the piles in the middle of pile bents #6 and #5 that are currently under the north trestle.
- GET Solutions will continue to monitor and test the concrete poured at the pile caps and will monitor the installation of the piles that will be installed as the north trestle ins removed, at pile bents #6 and #5.
