Week 23 of 95 North Carolina Aquariums Jennette’s Pier

  • Misener Marine installed the 24″ X 24″ concrete piles a the the following locations:  pile bent #3 (pile #1, #2, #3, #4 & #5), pile bent #2 (pile #1, #2, #3, #4), Pile bent #1 (pile #1, #2 & #3).  The piles installed at pile bents #3, #2 and #1 are on the north side of the north trestle and are adjacent to or under the Pier House.  Of the 108-24″ X 24″ piles that will be driven from the north trestle between pile bent #12 and pile bent #1, 56 have been driven to date.
  • Misener Marine removed the templates and the spud platform from the above pile bents and set the platform and templates o pile bent lines #11, #10 and #9 on the south side of the north trestle.  They will install the piles at the following locations this weekend: pile bent #11 (pile #5 & #6), Pile bent #10 (pile #6, & #7), pile bent #9 (pile #9, #10 & #11).
  • Misener Marine set the pile caps on the Pier at pile bent #12 and #11.2 and on the North and South Ramps to the Pier at pile bent # (-1) & #(-2).
  • Misener marine continued to receive piles and pile caps for the Pier and Pier House.
  • Clancy & Theys worked fabricating the wood components for the rail system on the Pier.
  • GET Solutions was on site to monitor the installation of the concrete piles at pile bents #3, #2, & #1 at the Pier House and will monitor the installation of the concrete piles scheduled to be installed.  GET Solutions also monitored the seismic activity on site during the pile driving operations.

WORK PLANNED FOR NEXT WEEK 24 OF 95

  • Clancy & Theys may begin installing the exterior trim a the Wastewater Treatment Building.
  • Misener Marine will continue setting the templates and the 24″ X24″ Pier and Pier House piles on the south side of the north trestle between pile bent #11 and #1.
  • Misener Marine will place the reinforcing steel and pour the pile pockets in the pile caps at pile bent #12 & #11.2 on the Pier and at Pile bent #(-1) & #(-2) on the North and South Ramps to the Pier.
  • GET Solutions will continue to monitor the pile installation as well as the concrete pours at the pile caps.
