Week 21 of 95 Construction Update North Carolina Aquariums Jennette’s Pier
- Mike Ward with State Construction made and inspection of the Wastewater Treatment Building. All electrical rough in under the building was inspected on this visit.
- Clancy & Theys has a pre-scheduled Safety Inspection by OSHA for all site operations on Tuesday, September 22, 2009.
- Misener Marine set up the spud platform and the templates and installed the 24″ X 24″ concrete piles a the following locations: Pile bents #6- #10. All of the piles are on the north side of the north trestle and are adjacent to or under the Pier House. Of the 108-24″ X 24″ piles that will be driven from the north trestle between pile bent #12 and #1, 31 piles have been driven to date.
- Misener Marine completed the south trestle through section 48, which is 792 ft. east of the existing dune line (or 536 ft. east of the proposed Pier House). The trestle will extend another 320 ft. to the east ( to the end of the proposed pier) but will only be extended with trestle sections from the north trestle as they are removed. As they are removed moving west, the Pier House pilings will be installed completing the Pier House piling installation.
- Misener Marine continued to receive the 24″ X 24″ concrete piles for the Pier and Pier House and also received the first of five pile caps, which are for the North Ramp.
- GET Solutions was on site to monitor the installation of the concrete piles at pile bents #6- #10 at the pier and Pier House. GET Solutions also set the seismic monitors at the north and south property lines, just behind the frontal dunes on the days that concrete piles were driven.
- Rough in work will continue on the Wastewater Treatment Building, with exterior trim and siding work starting.
- Misner Marine will set the pile caps on the north ramp starting early next week.
