Aquarium Society offers “adopt-an-animal” program

Otters, sharks and sea horses are just a few of the hundreds of species  at the North Carolina Aquariums at Fort Fisher, Pine Knoll Shores and Roanoke Island. They’re always popular with Aquarium guests, as are threatened American alligators and loggerhead sea turtles. Each requires specialized care from Aquarium staff and veterinarians to maintain good health and ensure the high standards for which the Aquariums are known.

Now you can help care for them too, through the Aquariums’ new Adopt-An-Animal program.  Select from five of our most popular animals – sharks, otters, sea turtles, alligators and sea horses – and choose the level of support you wish to provide. Your tax-deductible contribution will help the Aquariums feed, care for and exhibit these animals for a full year. You also can adopt an animal in someone else’s name as a gift.

You’ll receive an official certificate of adoption, an animal fact card with photos and specialized window decals. Your name will be listed on the Aquariums’ website along with other adoption supporters. The most popular adoption kits, available for $45, also come with a cuddly plush animal outfitted with its own hooded sweatshirt.

Order your adoption kit online, or purchase your adoption from Visitor Services at any of the three North Carolina Aquarium. If you place your order online, your  kit will be mailed within a few days to the recipient address you provide. If you need an order to arrive by a specific date, or have questions about your order, please call 800-832-FISH (3474).
