Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour to learn more about a special group of loggerhead sea turtles receiving care at the N.C. Aquarium at Fort Fisher. The sea turtles were injured in a mass cold-stunning event along the New England coast in early December and traveled to the Aquarium at Fort Fisher on New Year’s Day. This is a rare opportunity to see this threatened species up close and learn more about the daily care they receive from our dedicated husbandry staff. This is a limited opportunity as the turtles will return to the wild as soon as they are healthy.
$5, aquarium admission not included. A portion of the tour fee benefits Aquarium conservation efforts. Limited space available. Reserve your spot here.
*Aquarium Director Peggy Sloan leads the Sea Turtle Rehab Tour Monday, January 21 at 2 p.m.
The Aquarium receives no additional funding or staff to assist in the turtle care. Anyone interested in making a donation to assist in the care and rehabilitation of the loggerheads may contact the aquarium (910) 458-8257.
