FF_SharkTooth_Peggy_FamilyBig ones, little ones, strange ones. Visitors to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher are finding all kinds of fossil treasures this summer in the new Shark Tooth Creek attraction.

The outdoor water-sluice experience produces big smiles and big finds each day. One recent hunter discovered a fish vertebrae and multiple sharks teeth, including a partial extinct megalodon tooth.

Shark Tooth Creek offers visitors of all ages the opportunity to purchase a bucket of sifting sand for $10. The sand is provided by a local supplier. Found fossils become yours to keep.

Proceeds from Shark Tooth Creek are collected by the NC Aquarium Society and are used to support Aquarium exhibits and educational programs. Shark Tooth Creek is open 9 to 5 daily during the summer, weather permitting.
