Wrangling Reptiles at the Aquarium

Reptile Wrangler Bruce Shwedick presents his enthralling Reptile Discovery program Thursday and Friday, Aug. 22 and 23, at the N.C. Aquarium on Roanoke Island. Performances featuring his amazing collection of reptiles are set for 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. in Neptune’s Theater. Attendance is included with Aquarium admission.

Shwedick has been telling the story of his fascinating scaly friends for more than 35 years. See Carlos the iguana, Jade the anaconda, Nugget the saltwater crocodile and Java Kaa, the 14-foot albino python. Following the program, visitors can have souvenir photos taken with Shwedick and one of his reptile stars.

The Aquarium is at 374 Airport Road, just north of Manteo on Roanoke Island. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Click here to purchase Aquarium admission tickets online.
