We highly recommend scheduling your outreach as a classroom program. Many of our programs can be adapted for larger groups; however, your students will not get the hands-on approach we prefer in our programs.

 
 

Spadefish

Schedule early to get the date
you want!
Classroom Programs
  • Maximum of 30 students per program.
  • Programs for students who are at least 4 years old last one hour; shorter programs for students younger than 4 years old can be arranged.
  • Program Fees: $100 for one program, $50 for each additional presentation of the same program on the same day.
  • Travel Fees: $.75/mile applies to locations outside of New Hanover County. Travel requiring an overnight stay will incur additional fees.
Auditorium or Large Group Programs
  • Maximum of 150 students per program.
  • Programs last approximately one hour.
  • Program Fees: $200 for the initial program, $100 for each additional presentation of the same program on the same day.
  • Travel Fees: $.75/mile applies to locations outside of New Hanover County. Travel requiring an overnight stay will incur additional fees.

 

School Festivals or Booths
  • No size maximum
  • Base program fees include trained instructors to interpret a topic-specific table of your choice, an informational table, and a 12’ x 11’ inflatable spadefish.
  • Base Program Fees: $250 for a half-day event (up to 4 hours), $75/hour for additional hour.
  • Additional programs such as a shark tooth dig, appearances from a costumed character, or gyotaku are available for an additional fee.
