5K Race for the Planet

8 a.m. Sunday, April 23

Unfortunately, due to unsafe course conditions the 5K Race for the Planet was cancelled at 7:50 a.m. Sunday morning. Safety was our first priority. Participants can expect an email no later than Tuesday outlining further details. Thank you to everyone for the support and understanding.

The 5K Race for the Planet welcomes racers of all skill levels and starts and ends at the Aquarium. The flat, mostly asphalt course runs through scenic Fort Fisher with amazing views of the ocean, maritime forest and historic Fort Fisher Civil War site. Our goal for this race is to plant the seed for eco-conscious living and raise funds for the Aquarium’s educational programs and green initiatives.

Pollinators (Home-School Only)

9 a.m. Friday, May 5

This program, in partnership with Airlie Gardens, is the Aquarium’s first home-school session and was developed specifically with home-school families in mind. Environmental and Marine Educators will lead the program. Preregistration is required.
