Naturalist Badge
Observing, identifying, and classifying local flora and fauna helps introduce Scouts to the role of a naturalist. Scouts learn about flyways, see live animals in a classroom presentation and in our exhibits, and explore outdoor areas.
Cost per Scout: $12.00
Cost per Chaperone: $8.00

Naturalist Badge Program Agenda
Live Animal Presentation
Scouts learn about habits and habitats of reptiles and amphibians of the Cape Fear Region.
Aquarium Tour
A guided tour introduces Scouts to relevant native animals, including opportunities to identify venomous and otherwise hazardous flora and fauna.
Salt Marsh Exploration
Scouts observe, collect and identify marsh plants and animals. Activities include seine and/or dip netting. All equipment is provided.
