School Field Trip Information

Visiting the aquarium with your school is a great way to bring education alive. We offer many interactive opportunities for your students to learn more about marine environments.

Field Trip Information

Register your North Carolina school group in advance for free admission. Children and teachers/staff in registered N.C. school groups are admitted at no charge at the time of the visit to the Aquarium if registered in advance. A two-week advance registration is required for free admission. Register early. The Aquarium is a popular destination and reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. The admission fee for registered parent chaperones is $6 per person.

Climate Change and Climate Change Curriculum

Learn more about climate change, its impact on marine animals and access climate change curriculum and resources.

Sea Turtle Exploration Curriculum

Engage students in the fundamentals of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) through ready-to-use, standards based lesson plans and sea turtles. Explore additional resources such as sea turtle fact sheets, conservation actions, coloring pages and online activities.

Senior Projects

High school seniors interested in working with Aquarium mentors to complete Senior Projects can find guidelines, applications and important information here.

Field Guides

Teachers can introduce their students to the Aquarium’s animal collection prior to visiting  using Encyclopedia of Life Field Guides. These guides focus on specific species offering comprehensive details about the animals including description, behavior, habitat and more.
