Outdoor Exploration Guidelines

We want everyone’s trip to be educational and above all else, FUN! These guidelines are set in your best interest. For your safety, please follow them carefully.

All participants must wear some type of lace-up or close-toed shoes. Water shoes are suitable, but NO flip-flops or sandals please! There are very sharp oyster shells and other objects in the marsh mud. Failure to wear appropriate footwear, will result in exemption from the program. The aquarium is not responsible for lost footwear.

A change of dry shoes and clothes are required for re-entry into the aquarium.

Be prepared with insect repellent, sunscreen, and water; especially on hot, muggy days.

Live animals and plants may not be taken from the field trip site(s). We would like to be able to share this precious environment with you again in the future.

Please adhere to the special guidelines presented by the instructor during your trip so that the fragile environments in which you will be visiting will not be damaged or disturbed.

Foul weather policy: Outdoor programs may be canceled in the event of foul weather.
