Our Living Treasures

Help support all three N.C. Aquariums and Jennette's Pier by purchasing an Angler's Club tile. These red, fish-shaped Corian tiles are embedded in Pier decking boards in premium locations underneath the shade pavilions. The N. C. Aquarium Society uses the proceeds from Angler's Club tiles to help the Aquariums achieve their mission and enhance our Living Treasures.

inspire. appreciate. conserve.

In support of our mission, Jennette’s Pier incorporates conservation principles into daily activities and long-term initiatives. Current areas of focus include promotion of ethical angling, proper catch and release techniques and reduction of waste by recycling.  As an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, a partner in the Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s Responsible Pier Initiative and first responders for the Outer Banks Marine Stranding Network, staff works diligently to conserve and help protect the recreational fishery, sea turtles (photo by Susan Dotterer Dixon), marine mammals and shore birds for future generations. Our staff is also currently active helping the Outer Banks Center for Dolphin Research and the Outer Banks Marine Mammal Stranding Network. Our platinum LEED certified facility saves money and resources, has a positive impact on visitors and demonstrates renewable energy technology.
