special Events on pier and beach
Jennette's Pier hosts a wide variety of special events both on the pier and on the beaches all year round. These include several fishing tournaments (pictured), running races, amateur and pro surfing contests. While pier staff organizes and conducts the events on the pier, the beach events are typically put on by outside organizations such as OBX Running, Outer Banks Sporting Events, Wave Riding Vehicles (WRV) and the Eastern Surfing Association (ESA) to name a few. Once the dates are known for 2017 events, we'll post them on this page.
Jennette’s to hold annual family fishing event
Make memories to last a lifetime by competing in the 7th Annual Family Fishing Tournament at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head on Saturday, June 3 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants have a chance to target nearly a dozen different species including bluefish, speckled trout and flounder! Anglers who catch the longest fish in each category will be awarded a trophy and additional prizes. Sign up online at www.jennettespier.net or the morning of the event, which begins promptly at 8 a.m. Fishing has been great this spring and organizers say this tournament promises to be plenty of fun!
“We hope everyone comes out to the pier for a grand day of sunshine, biting fish and fun times,” said Tournament Director Daryl Law. Jennette’s Pier is operated by the N.C. Aquariums Division of the N.C. Department of Natural and Culture Resources. For more information, call Law at 252-255-1501, ext. 202.
