"Get Hooked" Fishing School

 

 

March 10 is last chance to register for “Get Hooked”

 

Time is running out for anglers to catch the “Get Hooked” Fishing School at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores on Saturday, March 15. Registration ends on Monday, March 10

 

 

The one-day course is packed with presentations by experienced anglers on all aspects of the sport. Sessions include Jimmy Price on flounder fishing; Dean Lamont on shad and striper fly fishing; Dr. Bogus on pier fishing; Jeff McBane on fishing basics in Carteret County; Bobby Freeman on offshore fishing; Joe Malat on surf fishing; Bryan Goodwin on light tackle inshore fishing; Jeff Cronk on speckled trout and Robert Purifoy on spear fishing. Additional mini-sessions will cover knot-tying and artificial reefs.

Registration includes participation in up to five sessions, a catered lunch, drawings for fishing gear and free goodies. Agencies and businesses of interest to fishermen and boaters will be on hand also.

 

“The fishing school is an opportunity to learn a lot in a single day,” said Aquarium Educator Cindy Seymour. “These instructors have a wealth of knowledge, and they are good teachers.”

 

The registration fee is $50

 

North Carolina Aquarium Society members receive a 10 percent discount. All sessions are at the Aquarium.
