Roanoke Island

Welcome to the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island. We invite you to come and visit the 68,000 square foot facility located in the Outer Banks. The Aquarium features many exciting and unusual residents that will guide you through your exploration of the “Waters of the Outer Banks.”

Pine Knoll Shores

From the mountains to the sea…

Feel the spray of a mountain waterfall. Watch river otters play. Touch a stingray. Look a shark in the eye. Explore shipwrecks – without getting wet. Thousands of aquatic animals take you on a journey from the state’s grand peaks to the open Atlantic, much as a raindrop makes its way to the ocean.

Fort Fisher

The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, located at the mouth of the Cape Fear River, welcomes visitors to “The Waters of the Cape Fear.” To tour the facility is to take a journey down the Cape Fear River – from freshwater streams and swamps, to coastline habitats, to reefs and the open ocean.
