Welcome to the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island! We invite you to come and visit the 68,000-square foot facility located on the Outer Banks. The Aquarium features many exciting and unusual residents that will guide you through your exploration of the “Waters of the Outer Banks.”
The Aquarium has something for everyone, and features sharks, alligators, and river otters as well as programming that includes dive shows, live animal encounters and feeding programs. The Aquarium has several special activities to choose from and unforgettable events. Be sure to include a visit to the Aquarium for a fun, exciting, and educational experience!

New Shark Exhibit Now Open!
The new Shark Exhibit is now open at the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke island. The number of sharks in the 285,000-gallon Graveyard of the Atlantic exhibit have been doubled. In this exhibit visitors will find a 10,000-gallon tank with smaller sharks. There are interactive games for children to discover, fun facts from local children, and a shark cage for photo opportunities, surrounded by lots of sharks!
