1) How can I schedule a field trip?
To register your group, contact the Registrar toll free at 866-332-3475 ext. 232. Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Aquarium requires that groups register at least two weeks in advance. This allows the Aquarium to schedule group visits in a timely manner so students have a more enjoyable experience
2) How long does it take to tour?
An hour or two is usually sufficient, but you can easily spend more time if you take advantage of educational programs. Plus, spending extra time at each exhibit will help you learn even m
ore about our fascinating animals and their habitats.
3) Where can we get something to eat?
The Aquarium does have an on-site food vendor that offers hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream and drinks, etc. Just remember that food and drinks aren’t allowed inside the Aquarium. The Aquarium also has on-site are vending machines.
4) Do you have picnic tables available?
Yes, we have a few picnic tables on the grounds. They do fill up quickly and are first come first serve.
5) Do you have a Gift Shop?
Yes, they sell shirts, books, toys, jewelry, etc. The Gift Shop also offers souvenir packs for school groups. Ask the registrar for information.
6) How many chaperones are needed for a group?
You need 1 chaperone per every 10 students.
7) Do you have tour guides?
This is a self guided facility. We do not provide tour guides.
8) Who do you call if you are running late?
You need to call (252) 473-3494 ext. 232 or 221 as soon as you are aware of any issues or concerns with your arrival and/or departure times.
9) Who do I need to call to reschedule my field trip?
You need to call the Registrar at 1-866-332-3475 ext. 232.
10) Do you have adequate parking for school and tour buses?
The Aquarium has parking spaces for buses in our visitor parking lot as well as in our overflow parking lot.
11) What is your busiest time of the year for school groups?
March thru May is the busiest time for school groups.
