    Hauled Out

    Another bright, sunny day but cold and windy. No one fishing yet. Air temp 43 degrees, water temp 48. Winds NE at 19 knots. High tide 7:01 a.m. and low 1:23 p.m. Check out this grey seal pup that hauled out of the ocean to rest on Friday morning. Staff from the Pier responded to make sure the animal was ok. We are proud to be part of the Outer Banks Marine Mammal Stranding Network.     Atlantic Spadefish -- Brilliant sun and cold again today. Students on a field trip from Currituck are giving it a go but nothing to report yet. Water temp 47 degrees. Low tide 9:38 a.m. High tide 3:22 p.m. Winds N at 10 knots. These Atlantic spadefish can be viewed in our Pier Piling aquarium inside the pier house.
