The North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island is located in Manteo, NC nine miles from the Atlantic coastline in Nags Head. The 61,000 square-foot facility is sited on 16 acres overlooking the Croatan Sound and houses over 2,200 animals. More than 280,000 guests visit the aquarium each year to see a large array of sharks, learn about sea turtle conservation, participate in a variety of programs, enjoy the beauty of the area, and learn why North Carolina’s waterways are so special.

Description of Work:

Greeter/security position requires excellent customer service and will have constant interaction with the public including school groups, families, and children. This position will also be responsible for patrolling aquarium grounds during operating hours as well as during special events in the evenings. Holiday and weekend work required. The successful candidate will be able to work in a pleasant manner with the public for long hours in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must be CPR/First Aid Certified and/or able to obtain certification.

Job Requirements/KSA:

-Customer service experience.

-Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time in all types of weather.

- Must have a valid NC Driver’s License or the ability to obtain for employment.

Education and Experience: 

High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
