NC BIOBLITZ with City Nature Challenge

The NC Aquarium on Roanoke island is recruiting visitors to participate in this worldwide “Bioblitz” to help collect research-grade data to benefit scientists. Cities are in contest to see who can find and make the most observations of nature, who can find the most species, and who can engage the most people.

Joining Team Coastal NC is a Snap

  1. Download the iNaturalist app & create account
  2. Snap photos of wild plants & animals
  3. Upload & share
  4. Discover the identity of your nature finds

A group of naturalists will help identify what you’ve observed and your observation data will become available for use in research. Our Aquarium has curated a diverse collection of wildlife inside our facility, but outside is where nature provides an array of unique biodiversity of wild animals and plants found around the Outer Banks community.

All programs include instructions for the iNaturalist app.
