Rules
  • All entrances, exits, exhibits and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
  • Large parking areas are provided for visitors. During peak summer months you may be required to park in the overflow parking lot.
  • The Aquarium is a smoke- and tobacco-free facility including electronic/vapor cigarettes. Use of these products is only permitted outside of the fenced in grounds, in the parking area.
  • Food and drink are not allowed inside the building to ensure the health and safety of the animals in our care.
  • For visitor safety, shoes are required in the building and most Aquarium tours and adventures require closed-toe shoes.
  • Flashlights, laser pointers and video lights are not permitted. Please keep these and any other lighting devices off as you tour the aquarium, for animal safety. Flash photography is not permitted during behind-the-scenes tours.
  • Most visitors can tour the Aquarium in approximately 2 hours. However, if you plan to participate in Aquarium programs, dig for shark teeth in the fossil pit, or visit the gift shop, allow more time.
  • We welcome ADA qualified service animals that are specifically trained to perform tasks which aid a person with a disability. Please inform Visitor Services if a trained service animal will be assisting you.
  • Areas of the Aquarium may be closed and some animals may not be visible for a variety of reasons including regular or special care for the animals and their living space. Refunds or exchanges are not possible in cases of closed areas or unavailable animals. Please contact us if you have questions about specific animals or experiences.

Helpful Hints

Make your visit even better using these insider tips:

  • Summer weekdays can be very busy, but even more so if the weather is bad or there are red flags on the beaches.
    • Try a weekend visit or reserve an early time. Time slots do sell out, so make your reservations as soon as possible.
  • We have a seasonally available snack bar, Shark Bites 2, located near the fossil pit. There are picnic tables available for all guests.
  • Food and drink are not allowed in the Aquarium, but water bottles are welcome. We even have bottle filling stations at all of our water fountains.
  • Please leave pets at home. If you must bring a pet, an adult in your party must stay with the pet in the parking lot to ensure they don't overheat.
